WHO WE ARE

“We are Brothers and Sisters across generations, united through city surf clubs
and friendly competition, with a deep passion for surfing and positive movement,
always paying it forward to those following behind us.”

WHAT IS WCBR?

The West Coast Board Riders is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering community through surfing. Established in 2016, as the West Coast Board Riders, it has transformed into an organization titled USBR, that has since grown into a nationwide movement with over 50 chapters from Hawaii to New Jersey. It connects surfers of all ages, creating camaraderie both in the water and through community initiatives like beach cleanups and youth outreach programs. WCBR also organizes competitions that blend individual talent with team spirit, bringing together generations of surfers to represent their hometown pride.

COMMUNITY AND VISION

WCBR aims to strengthen the national surf community while preserving the local surf town spirit. Members from different regions connect through a shared love for surfing and mutual support, whether hosting visiting surfers or mentoring the next generation.

COMPETITIONS AND IMPACT

WCBR hosts regional surfing competitions, including the annual U.S. Board Riders National Championship and the West Coast Wheat Cup. These events showcase top surfers across age divisions, from groms to seasoned pros, in an innovative team format. Clubs compete not just for trophies, but for the pride of their surf communities. Events are live-streamed worldwide, spotlighting both local surf culture and USBR’s commitment to sustainability.
