SAN CLEMENTE TAKES THE WIN AT THE 2022 U.S. BOARD RIDERS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

San Clemente Board Riders Club Takes the Win at The 2022 US Board Riders National Championship presented by Quiksilver and A New Earth Project.

Clubs from West Coast Board Riders, South Jersey Board Riders, and Florida Board Riders are represented at the inaugural event.

San Clemente, CA (25 April 2022)—Under sunny skies and with good surf, the 2022 US Board Riders National Championship presented by Quiksilver and A New Earth Project saw the hometown San Clemente Board Riders Club take the win in a dominating show of force at Lower Trestles in front of an enthusiastic and supportive crowd.

Taking 5 of 7 heat wins and posting an overall event score of 243.42 points, the outcome was never in doubt.

Also representing the West Coast Board Riders chapter of USBRC was second place Santa Cruz Board Riders who put 197.46 points on the board and did claim the win in both the 40-49 and 20-29 divisions.

Florida Board Riders were represented by Space Coast Board Riders Club who took third overall with 178.4 points and got a second-place finish in the hotly-contested 20-29s.

Also representing Florida was New Smyrna Beach Board Riders who took 4th overall with a combined event score of 154.82, while South Jersey’s 7 Mile Island Board Riders Club took 5th with a total score of 108.33.

“We had an absolutely amazing time as the host club for the first USBRC National Championship,” said San Clemente’s co-president Frankie D’Andrea. “To win the whole thing was a dream come true and I know I speak for our entire club when I say that we’re stoked on the whole deal. Big thanks to everyone who traveled west and to the team at USBRC for putting together such a great event.”

The last stop of the 2021-2022 USBRC season will be the USBRC All-Stars presented by The Jack’s Surfboards Pro taking place on Wednesday 27 April on the south side of the pier in Huntington Beach. 4 teams from WCBR and one team from the East Coast will be competing for $1,000 in rose money and bragging rights to wrap up a great year.
